Mira Cabernet Sauvignon M-Bar Ranch 2018

Mira Cabernet Sauvignon M-Bar Ranch 2018

Aromas of blackberry compote, plum, black tea leaf and fennel delight the nose, while blackberries, dark cherries and cassis follow on the palate. This prestigious site sits at the base of the Mayacamas mountain range on the venerable Oakville bench adjacent to the southern border of Vine Hill Ranch. This "neighborhood" of esteemed sites also includes Harlan Estate, Promontory and Beckstoffer-Missouri Hopper to name a few. M-Bar Ranch was recently replanted and Gustavo was lucky enough to make the first wine from the new young vines, but this is the only vintage we were able to produce.

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast - CELLAR SELECTION - "Intricate aromas, bold flavors and a lush texture add up to greatness in this wellconcentrated, complex and age-worthy wine. Mint, dark chocolate, cinnamon and black-cherry syrup scents lead to rich, dark, saturated fruits on a firm base of fine-grained tannins. - J.G."

93 Points - Jeb Dunnuk - "The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon M-Bar Ranch is a beautiful Oakville 2018 that has lots of dark, chocolaty fruits as well as notes of truffly earth, leather, and leafy herbs. Medium to full-bodied, rich, and mouth-filling, it shows the purity and precision of this great vintage. It’s going to evolve for 20 years if well stored."

93 Points - James Suckling - "A very well-balanced Napa cabernet sauvignon, showing a stony accent to the blackberries, spices and violets. Compact and fine-grained on the palate, but it still shows nice fluidity and succulence in the middle, with a bright, juicy finish. Lovely freshness. Drinkable now, but will show better in a year or two. Try in 2024."

92 Points - The Wine Independent - "The single-varietal 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon M-Bar Ranch is deep garnet-purple in color. The nose is a little swamped by cedar/oak overtones, offering glimpses at warm cassis, black cherry compote, and wild blueberries scents, with wafts of crushed rocks and iron ore. The full-bodied palate is sturdy, with rugged tannins and just enough freshness, finishing chewy. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown"
