Mira Estate Franc Blanc 2021
White floral notes, peach, lime blossom, apricot preserve, and chamomile tea on the nose followed by bright citrus flavors on the palate. The finish is long and refreshing. This wine was produced from 100% Cabernet Franc and whole cluster pressed to produce a refreshing unique white wine.
94 Points - Tasting Panel - "Here’s something different: a Cabernet Franc made into a white wine. Made off the estate vineyard in Yountville, with only 250 cases available, this 'Blanc de Cab Franc' offers up notes of salted pears, melding with melon, lemon verbena, and pine nuts. Quite dry on the palate, and very much tasting of an old-world sensibility, the flavors are rich and deep, finishing with an aura of fresh linen. — MM"
90 Points - James Suckling - "A slight salmon tinge to the pale lemon-green color. Green plums, white cherries and lemon sorbet on the nose, following through to a crisp and fairly mineral palate. Succulent and bright with fine, phenolic chewiness. Drink now. — JS"
90 Points - Robert Parker Wine Advocate - "While it's billed as a white wine, the 2021 Franc Blanc has enough of a pale coppery hue that I've classified it as a rosé—we'll see if future vintages are more white in color. Melon and tomato leaf notes come together harmoniously on the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is gently silky in texture, then finishes crisp and refreshing."
