Vineyard Notes
Located in the Los Carneros AVA in Napa Valley, Hyde Vineyard’s East facing slopes provide ideal sun exposure when paired with the cool coastal winds that blow from San Pablo Bay through Carneros. Considered one of the superstar vineyards of the Napa Valley, the grapes from this location are perfect for crafting our single vineyard Cabernet Franc.
Vintage Notes
A brilliant vintage from start to finish, 2012 gave us nothing but perfect ripening weather. Warm days, cool nights and not a drop of rain until all of our grapes were in the cellar. A bountiful harvest with some of the best fruit ever.
Winemaker's Notes
Four day cold maceration followed by 10 days of fermentation. Daily pumpers during active fermentation at 88 degrees F. 30 days total vat time followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged 18 months in 100% French oak barrels, 50% new.
