On the nose our 2019 vintage brings out some mild peppers and intoxicating vanilla bean.  Great mouthfeel, very round with a spice element that draws you in and allows for wine to really connect back together start to finish. Opulent and exciting for those who have loved our Oakville Cabernets in the past and have been waiting for a new release.  

92 Points - James Suckling - " A very well-balanced Napa cabernet sauvignon, showing a stony accent to the blackberries, spices and violets. Compact and fine-grained on the palate, but it still shows nice fluidity and succulence in the middle, with a bright, juicy finish. Lovely freshness. Drinkable now, but will show better in a year or two. Try in 2024."

Tasting Notes
First impressions of wet crushed gravel and delicate spice are followed closely by an onrush of vibrant black fruits. Opulent and extroverted, the wine’s boldness and backbone of structure are strong enough to carry the essence of 100% new French oak yet still offer a touch of dust that hints at the proximity of Rutherford.
Vintage Notes
2017 is a year in which Nature kept us on our toes through much of the growing season. Winter brought us a much-needed abundance of rain that refreshed our groundwater supplies. The mild spring felt like a continuation of winter which culminated in a rare June hailstorm. The winter rains were brought to balance with very warm summer temperatures leading to the wildfires at the end of harvest. Fortunately for Mira, none of our vineyards were impacted and we had wrapped up harvest before the fires, saving us from any effect on wine quality.
Winemaker's Notes
Eight day cold maceration followed by 17 days of fermentation. Daily pumpovers during active fermentation at 91°F. 21 days total skin contact time followed by malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels. Bottled non fined and non filtered.
