NEW RELEASE Mira Jimmy D's Red Blend Napa Valley 2021

NEW RELEASE Mira Jimmy D's Red Blend Napa Valley 2021

A bolder blend than previous Jimmy D's vintages due to the absense of Syrah in the blend. The vintage comes with a punch of excitement from the strong percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. Warm vanilla on the nose is followed by an earthy, nutty palate. A concentrated blend that evolves nicely as it breathes. A pleasure to drink now and can be held in cellar twenty plus years.  Cabernet Sauvignon 63% - Cabernet Franc 25% - Petit Verdot 12%

90 Points - TASTINGS.COM - " Dark garnet color. Aromas of chocolate covered toffee biscotti, black cherry, and marzipan with a round, vibrant, dryish medium-to-full body and a tingling, engaging, medium-length cocoa and toffee, black cherry and blackberry, almond paste, and vanilla and leather finish. The ripe fruit on the nose pulls you in and the bright acidity keeps you coming back for more; a great example of a food friendly red blend from Napa Valley."

Vintage Notes
2021 brought a little relief to the growing season in the Napa Valley, following the challenging 2020 harvest. The summer was relatively long and mild, allowing flavors to develop at a measured pace. The late summer saw no major heat spikes, and thankfully no local fires and smoke. The severe drought continued in the region but our grower partners as well as our Mira Estate vineyard are lucky enough to have adequate well water allowing a decent crop to establish and ripen. Our first white wines from the Mira Estate were harvested this year and produced a healthy crop, crafting wines with a beautiful purity and freshness, coupled with ripe flavors at naturally lower alcohol levels. We knew the site had a winegrowing history but you’re never certain what the grapes will be like until you make the wine. I can say without a doubt, the vines on our estate are already showing great promise.
